Nice basic belt

size guidance inadequate

I measured my waist as about 36 inches an ordered the Large. It's too big; the tightest hole is at 34.5" on the tape measure, but feels slightly loose when fastened. The longest hole measures 40.5". Actual belt full length, center of buckle to tip, is 43.5". I don't know why the size chart gives hip measurement but not waist. Under "Product Details, Size and Fit, it says approx length of Large is 39" and to order 2" larger than waist. Do not know how they got 39"; it's wrong no matter how I look at it. Large is supposed to fit pant sizes 12-14. I have been wearing 12. I guess, if you like your belts loose.
