works perfectly

I’m lucky to live in an area where it doesn’t usually get too hot and I can just open the windows. This has provided relief on those few days when the heat is unbearable. It’s easy to pull out of the closet and set up. I put in the living room and it keeps my entire one bedroom condo comfortable.

Good AC, “smart” features lackluster

This AC is pretty decent for a portable unit. It’s quiet enough for a bedroom. The inverter feature is what makes it good. I liked the window unit better, but someone complained, and we’re stuck with this instead. This appliance is supposed to be “smart” but the app “LG Thinq” keeps filling with spammy garbage and the appliance controls get harder to find. You cannot use any popular “smart home” app with LG stuff. Only some of these apps have a reduced feature set. Some don’t work period.

Poor reliability

LP1419IVSM I purchased August 2022 Has error code CH38. It has not been moved since it was installed even though it has rollers. It worked well. It does not cool at all....250 sguare foot room.

Terrible

Any time the unit is powered on, the fan is running, regardless of whether the compressor is needed for cooling. So if the weather is not warm enough to require cooling, too bad, you're stuck listening to the stupid fan 24/7. I called LG and they confirmed that the fan on the unit is designed to run non stop. What a ridiculous feature, I have never encountered an air conditioner that doesn't shut down once the desired temperature is reached. I don't want to listen to the thing running constantly.

Praise and small issue

I had a cheaper brand before the LG and hated it. It was very noisy, and it kept coming on and shortly after turning off again, so it was very slow to cool. The LG is quiet and cools quickly. However, the fan does not turn off after the compressor goes off; it runs all the time on a low speed. It would be more efficient if it turned off as advertised. It doesn't have an Auto setting on the fan speed settings.

Summer's almost over, but my LG A/C is still going

The a/c arrived just as I felt as if I would pass out from the heat and humidity. It is difficult for others to appreciate just how much relief the A/C has given me this summer, but I am thankful for the respite it has afforded and look forward to many years more of use. Thank you!
