Informative and adorable
These were lovely, they remind me of the format of Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Tales to Dream Big but with the absolute sweetest art style. I loved the narration, both women were amazing, and I would listen to Bahni Turpin narrate the phonebook at this point. We listened and flipped along to give my voice a break at read aloud time, and my 7 year old was able to follow along (my 4 year old off and on asked questions, but wasn't really absorbing much history) I definitely want to pick up the others in the series.

Wonderful read!
I got this book when I was four and now I am nine. Even now, I enjoy this book, I'll read it every day. I was delighted to see how they were showing some less famous women in black history. Quite a few of the people in the book I had never heard of, but as I read, I was drawn in by the words that Vashti Harrison placed perfectly on the pages. I also looked with amazement to see the beautiful drawings that she drew herself.
