After a decade apart, childhood sweethearts reconnect by chance in New York Times bestselling author Christina Lauren's touching, romantic novel Love and Other Words... how many words will it take for them to figure out where it all went wrong? The story of the heart can never be unwritten. Macy Sorensen is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine- work hard as a new pediatrics resident, plan her wedding to an older, financially secure man, keep her head down and heart tucked away. But when she runs into Elliot Petropoulos - the first and only love of her life - the careful bubble she's constructed begins to dissolve. Once upon a time, Elliot was Macy's entire world growing from her gangly bookish friend into the man who coaxed her heart open again after the loss of her mother... only to break it on the very night he declared his love for her. Told in alternating timelines between Then and Now, teenage Elliot and Macy grow from friends to much more spending weekends and lazy summers together in a house outside of San Francisco devouring books, sharing favorite words, and talking through their growing pains and triumphs. As adults, they have become strangers to one another until their chance reunion.

Might be my favorite romance novel

AMAZING! It took me one day to read this book, I literally couldn't put it down. It was such an engaging romance story and it was just beautiful to watch it evolve as the characters grew up. Elliot was my entire heart, how sweet and patience he is. I loved that it also had so much passion it it, not just the romance part or the drama. Amazing! Get it

A Great. Mature, Coming of Age Love Story

I would recommend this read to anyone looking for a wholesome love story that does go a bit further under the surface than your typical Romance Novels! It was difficult for me to put down because I wanted to figure out what happened to the two characters to lead them to where the book starts. For a nonlinear timeline, this was well done by the author in my humble opinion to where the reader is tracking and following easily, instead of creating too much confusion. I will say, I would've given it 5 stars if the climax was a bit more flushed out or given just a few (JUST A FEW) more pages to understand more. To me and maybe some others, it may come off as too quick of a turning point from one page of revelations to the aftermath, especially for such a slow burn and well thought out buildup to that point! That is my only thorn, the rest is a bouquet of roses!! :) Great read!

Couldn't put it down

I read it from cover to cover in one sitting. Next thing I knew, it was two A.M and I felt like I just sat down to start reading it just moments again. There were tears while this book was read. The characters truly become your world and their emotions come your own and the words will sweep you away. I truly couldn't put it down. This book was sad and uplifting all at the same time. It was utterly beautiful and so relatable.

Cute/relatable love story for YA

Childhood friends and lovers, Elliot and Macy, broke up and lost contact with one another. They reconnect almost a decade later in a coffee shop and practically become inseparable since reconnecting. I mostly enjoyed this book, however the beginning was slow and the VERY end of the book was eh, but half way through the book/the middle of the book is really good and will have you intrigued! It also has some spicy moments! If you enjoy a good friends to lovers romance book, I recommend this book!
