With her signature charm and sense of humor, bestselling author Helena Hunting creates a novel about love, family, and second chances in Make a Wish. Ever have a defining life moment you wish you could do over? Harley Spark has one. The time she almost kissed the widowed father of the toddler she nannied for. It was so bad they moved across the state and she never saw them again. Fast forward seven years and she's totally over it. At least she thinks she is. Until Gavin Rhodes and his adorable now nine-year-old daughter, Peyton, reappear at a princess-themed birthday party hosted by Spark House, Harley's family's event hotel. Despite trying to avoid the awkwardness of the situation, she can't help but notice how unbearably sexy he looks in a tutu. Add to that a spontaneous hives breakout, and it's clear she's not even remotely over the mortification of her egregious error all those years ago. Except Gavin seems oblivious to her inner turmoil. So much so that he suggests they get together for lunch. For Peyton's sake, of course. It's the perfect opportunity to heal old wounds. Or it could just reopen them. This is one of those times Harley wishes she could see the future.

Nice ending to the series

I have really enjoyed this series and am sad to say goodbye to the Spark sisters. A blast from the past knocks Harley off her feet during one of her Spark House children's birthday parties and it’s non stop from there. This was a really cute read with a very slow burn. Peyton offered some lightheartedness to the overall story. I was surprised by the narrator of the epilogue but it was adorable and I loved it. It was the cherry on top of the sundae.

Big-hearted, engaging, and swoon-worthy!

Make a Wish is a charming second-chance romance between the driven, spirited Harley and the sweet, hardworking, single father Gavin as they discover that time has not changed the deeply-rooted friendship and sizzling attraction they felt for each other seven years ago and is perhaps something that could be even more if only they’d take a chance on it. The writing is passionate and heartfelt. The characters are kind, supportive, and dependable. And the plot is a delightfully enchanting tale about family, friendship, tension, chemistry, healing, self-discovery, parenthood, special moments, happiness, taking chances, and unconditional love. Overall, Make a Wish is an amusing, lighthearted, adorable tale by Hunting that is the third and final book in the Spark House series and even though it can definitely be read as a standalone novel, as someone who absolutely loves this series, I would highly recommend you read them all.

Cute romantic comedy

Cute romantic comedy that at times had me laughing out loud and other times feeling emotional . This is the first I've read by this author and I'm looking forward to checking out more of her titles.

Great read, full of heart!

Great read! I really loved Gavin and Harley's story, the connection they have and how their pull progresses. I was taken on that journey with them, getting to know them both, their feelings, the pain, the hurt... it all came together well while I was flipping those pages. Gavin is a single father, that love for his daughter is seen immediately and my heart twisted for them. Harley is amazing, her heart is huge, how she is, who she is, everything about her. This story hit me in the feels, having me enjoy every moment, and wanting to read the other books in this series!

Great Romance

Make a Wish is the third romance in the Spark House series. When Harley Spark, lover of kids and all things glittery and princess, reconnects with Gavin Rhodes and his daughter, Peyton, who Harley used to nanny years ago, sparks fly. This is the first book in this series I have read, but I feel like this can easily be read as a standalone. You just miss out on a little of the background history of Harley’s sisters romances and now I can’t wait to go back and read those romances! I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about this book, the characters were great, the romance hot and the story was so easy to read. This was the perfect read for me right now! If you are a romance fan looking for a fun romance between a widowed dad and a great, lovable female lead this is worth picking up! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an audiobook copy of this book!

Disappointing

I thought the story was slow moving and repetitive. Wish I would have saved my money on this one.

Enjoyable

Make a Wish is Book 3 of Helena Hunting's Spark House series. While we get to revisit characters in past stories, it stands perfectly fine on its own if you haven't read the other books yet. As much as I enjoyed Gavin and Harley and characters, the story fell a bit flat and their romance seemed to miss some of the spark I was looking (and hoping) for. As for the mother-in-law, I kept waiting for Gavin to grow a pair. Overall, it was very a well written and engaging story which I finished very easily. ARC received via NetGalley.

Adored Harley, Gavin and Peyton!

Make A Wish is the final book in the Spark House series. I was so sad to see the series end, but it was great to watch all 3 of them build and grow as the stories went on. This story was so sweet – I adored Harley – she was the softer of the sisters, but through this book you watched her flourish, stand up for herself and really stand her ground on what she wants in life. It took her a while to get there, about 55% of the book, she let her sisters run circles around her, allowed a boyfriend to not treat her the best emotionally all while trying to figure herself out. When she finally makes that turn. Gah! My heart. Gavin - I liked Gavin for most of the story – and some times I wish he had a back bone. I will say, coming from being a single parent needing my parents help for a few years, I felt his struggles and his pains. I know what its like to be afraid to stand up for your own parenting because you are dependent on someone else. I also know the freedom that comes with standing up for yourself. It may hurt at first, but it will get better. Peyton – Peyton was the gem in this story, 10 years old, in love with princesses, her dad, and Harley. I have seen a lot of people review on how they felt this book was to dependent on the family aspect and not the romance - Again as a single parent, that’s kind of how things go sometimes. There was of course romance, but you want to make sure this person fits in your life with your child. It just makes sense. I loved that aspect of this book as a lot of the times kids are written in and the relationship between them and the adults gets lost in the sauce of overwhelming amounts of sexy time. Sexy time is great – I know but when you’re a single parent, you cant just run in the door and start humping on the tables. You need to time things, sneak things in, love your partner, and your child and love them together. My rant for the day I guess? Loved this book, loved the series, cant wait to dive in to a reread every now and again!
