Not ideal for the long waisted

This dress is lovely - the color, the flow and silky feel of the fabric (not silk), attention to detail (buttons, zipper, belt). It might work well on women who are short waisted, otherwise the waist (and belt) hit somewhere mid rib cage and it looks almost like an empire waist. Also, the sleeves are a drawback as they show a bit too much of the under arm. What has happened to traditional sleeves that are sewn into the dress?
