I read the reviews saying it chips, so I have been super careful with it. Everything I've made has amazing. So good I fact, this morning I decided to search on line for recipes to roast my thanksgiving turkey in it next week. I was also checking out Macy's to order more matching pieces. Fortunately I didn't get around to ordering more pieces because when I was searing some meat tonight, I heard a ping! and saw a nickel size piece of the interior coating had popped off and little pieces were all over the meat. Super sad. It was so cute and made me smile every time I looked at it. I will either get the big name brand, or go with non coated cast iron next time. SO BUMMED!
Chipped first time I used it!
Gently hand washed this and started cooking. Hand washed it again after I was done cooking my first meal in it and it had a large chip off the bottom about 1/4" x 2" long. Super disappointing. This is not durable and nothing close to the expensive best brand out there. I was hoping to get by with this lower cost item but there is no way it's even close to being durable.
Poor quality
I watched this item for many months before finally purchasing it. I was so excited to be bringing some pink into my kitchen and was enchanted by this pot, particularly the heart-shaped knob. As instructed, I washed it prior to use. Well, I didn't even end up using it; as it was drying on the counter, I noticed a CHIP on the lid. How disappointing! If you are sitting on the fence about this item, do NOT purchase it. Thank heavens Macy's has such a good return policy.
Enjoy this pan!
What a great pan! Fun to use, very good competitor to higher priced enamel cast iron at a far better price. I did not have a chipping problem like some. I like the color and decorative handle. Our mussels look beautiful cooked in this pot!!
Chips
Love the color and the heart knob. With that being said, I don’t think is this a durable as the regular Martha Stewart Dutch oven. First time cooking a meat sauce with this pan using a wooden spoon, it got a small chip. Second time with a silicon spatula still chipped. I don’t have this problem with other pans.
Chipped the first month
First let me say this shade of pink is soft and beautiful! That was my whole reason I bought this pot, the color! It cooks really well and browns meat very nicely. Super easy clean up also. But after owning my pot just 1 month I found a chip on the lid. I was so sad because I leave it on my stove top even when it's not being used. I am not even sure how it happened. I had the lid sitting on the back of my stove? I have 6 Le creuset dutch ovens and have never had one chip. So their enamel is definitely better quality then the enamel on this Martha Stewart pot. That being said it was affordable and the chip on my lid doesn't affect the cooking in anyway and I know I will still use this pot a lot. Just disappointed it chipped so quickly.
Excellent Pot
I love my new dutch oven. It looks stylish and I have received many compliments on it. It is functional as well. I use if for cooking foods I used to cook in a pan. It keeps the oil splatter from getting all over the stove and it is easy to clean. Just use a baking soda with a bit of water and it will get the tough stuck-on food off.
Love
This was my first Dutch even pot and i loveee it will be using a lot
