Wouldn't recommend these blocks, sorry
We purchased these blocks in store for a Christmas angel toy drive. When we got home we noticed the blocks were flaking off the colored paint and there was chips of wood you could see in the clear packaging. We bought Melissa and Doug for the brand name as we have had good experience with their other toys. I would not recommend these to anyone, even age appropriate at 2 years I wouldn't give my toddler something with peeling and chipped paint.

I thought there was too much on one block--drawings, numbers, more than one letter of the alphabet on each block.

Good product
I purchased these blocks for my one year old grandson . At this point he just enjoys stacking them up but it is a nice introduction to the alphabet . The blocks are solid and colorful but seem to be a tad bit on the smaller side ( from what I remember them being when my daughter was that age ).

Parents Beware
Parents Beware! We received this set as a gift for Christmas. Initially I was excited, I wanted and alphabet block set and Melissa and Doug is supposed to be good quality. Not even a month later my 10 month old got ahold of one the blocks and because everything goes into his mouth, in went the block. They are big enough that there is no chance of swallowing but a HUGE shard of wood broke off in his mouth!!! He did no bite the block as he simply like to hold things in mouth so obviously the block is made of very poor quality and was compromised. Melissa and Doug, how can you sell inferior products like this??? How you can you do so knowing the injury it could potentially cause?? The blocks have since hit the trash and I will never purchase another Melissa and Doug product. I have also made sure our friends and family are aware of what happened so they to will not have to experience a near miss.
