Received wrong item

I ordered a University of Tennessee hoodie, as a Christmas gift for my daughter, on 11/23/30. The package arrived on 11/30/23, but was NOT what I ordered. I received a red ADIAS sweatshirt. I contacted Customer Service and they said they would reship the correct item. They provided me with a call tag to return the wrong item, which I did. The correct item was supposed to arrive on 12/6/23, but it never did. I contacted Customer Service again, and they said it was “in transit”. They never provided a different tracking number for the new shipment, so I had no way of checking on it. In 12/11/23, I contacted them again, and after a 30 minute conversation was given the new tracking number. UPS “lost” the package. I filed a claim with UPS, but Macy’s stated they couldn’t send another hoodie until the claim was closed…which can take up to three weeks. They wouldn’t issue a refund, because the package was still “in transit”, even though it was lost. Hopefully they reship the correct hoodie at some point…and maybe it will arrive before my daughter’s birthday…in June!! All of this could have been avoided if whoever pulled the original order had packaged the correct item! This is the first and last time I buy anything from Macy’s.
