Soft fabric, but thin and feels cheaply made

I bought this to include with some other items as a gift, but decided to return it as soon as I took it out of the package. The color is nice - darker than it appears on my monitor - and the fabric is soft. However, it is also very thin. I can easily see my hand through the fabric in average (not super bright) light and it feels like it will stretch out and lose its shape quickly. Given the price, perhaps that's to be expected, but I would be embarassed to gift this to anyone.
