Love the Velcro strap for easy on and off. The sole has great grip for climbing. Very comfortable.

6 years agoComfort but lacks quality.
My husband bought a pair of these shoes for my older son and within a week the bungee line became detached. We returned them and bought a new pair. Because Merrell is usually great quality. However within 2 weeks the new set started to peel from the toe. We stuck with merrell because my kid loves the comfort and prefers them to all his other shoes. His previous grown out pair lasted a year and we were still able to donate them. However, this new pair is just falling apart.

My 6 yr. old grandson is very tough on shoes. New Balance, Strideright, Nike, have only lasted a month or two. Merrills last until he's into the next size! Great shoes on a child who's very active!

6 years agoFavorite shoes and approved by the foot doctor!
These shoes are my son’s most favorite. He wears them daily and picks them every morning over any other shoes that he has. The color is very vibrant and as pictured (we purchased the light green/ blue one). The reason why we chose this shoes was actually because one of the reviewers mentioned he got the shoes for someone who was flat footed as we were looking to get shoes that would fit with our son’s orthotics. They did fit and our podiatrist said that Merrell was a great choice for our son’s growing foot. We don’t know how durable the shoes are yet as these are still fairly new. Otherwise highly recommended *****

Comfortable, stable, and dry shoe for kids to hike or play outside in. Also a good alternative for grade school kids who don’t want to bring a change of boots to school on bad weather days for recess!

Waterproofing did not last
My son was very excited for his waterproof sneakers and unfortunately after about 2 weeks of wearing them and getting them wet to varying degrees they no longer appear to be waterproof beyond the sole. He's 5 and was experimenting with how far and deep he could step in water but it seems to many deep puddles and ocean & rivers walks have worn them out.
