Where art thou deep flutes?
For over 25 years we have enjoyed and taken great pleasure lifting our Stephanie stemware with friends, family, and each other. The shape, weight, and details seemed to enhance every toast and taste, be it champagne, red or white. So, it was somewhat saddening to see the fluting a mere shadow of the original when we opened the box of a recent replacement order. I doubt the manufacturer will return to the original mold. Possibly a response to strengthening the pattern...let us hope not just an act of cheapening so pleasurable a creation.

Now sturdier
We love these glasses, but the stems of the ones we got as wedding presents were thin and broke easily. The ones we just bought (as replacement fro broken ones) are slightly thicker with slightly thicker stems. Still beautiful!
Love these!
I've had these for 19 yrs. They are classic, timeless and elegant. Thanks Mikasa for not discontinuing.

Not what we expected
These glasses are very fine quality, and they are pretty. However the photo online is not accurate. The glasses have vertical indents along the sides that you can't really see in the pictures. I did not like them as much when I received them. They look a lot more old-fashioned, whereas I would have preferred a simpler, more modern look. I would recommend seeing them in store before purchasing, to make sure they are your taste.
