Honest mistake, or disingenuous business practice?

Bought this dress on sale and was emailed a day later by the third party that this dress is no longer available, and in the next hour it was available on macy’s again for full price in the same size. Even if they didn’t have my size in stock due to an inventory issue, I wasn’t offered another size, or an equivalent remedy instead of a cancellation. The third party didn’t notify the marketplace of the cancellation, so I’ve been receiving emails from Macy’s marketplace for the last few weeks about my “package being delayed”. I understand it’s the holidays, and things must be hectic for businesses. Honestly I love Miss Circle and I’m just deeply disappointed that I couldn’t get the dress at the price it was sold to me originally.
