Buyer beware of this unit
If you want a cheap coffee maker that lasts just beyond the warranty period, go ahead and buy this unit. Had a Sunbeam version of this maker, lasted about 2 years, then crapped out. Bought a replacement one as it is affordable (same make and model), lasted just over a year. Makes decent coffee while it works. Leaving a review under Mr. Coffee, as when I opened up the unit to troubleshoot the malfunction, the Sunbeam exterior has Mr. Coffee components inside. Failure of the t-stat seems to be a common issue.

Intentionally hard to fix
Received this as a gift and it worked for about a year and a half. I had not cleaned it in about 2 months and I assumed the beeping meant that the line was clogged. Seemed like an easy fix and it's a very simple machine, which I liked about it. But the base is held in with really obnoxious 3-point screws and I couldn't get it open to fix without stripping the screws or breaking the base (they do not include the tool needed to open). Will not be buying anymore Mr Coffee products in the future and based on the overwhelmingly negative reviews on this machine, I'm sure they don't care. Would I recommend to a friend? I wouldn't recommend to an enemy.

Shuts off after brewing
I've used this coffee maker for about 2 months, weekends only. It has been shutting off after a while and then I can not turn it back on, even though the pot is not empty. This morning, the coffee brewed and shut off immediately. I've unplugged it and plugged it back in. I've tried unplugging it and waiting for a minute, then plugging it back. Still nothing. I've always liked Mr. Coffee. Guess I should have NOT bought the more expensive, fancy machine and just stayed with their cheaper machines.

This has been my favorite coffee maker....
Wow a lot of bad reviews for this coffee maker, My experience with it has been very positive. We bought this coffee maker after we were sent to different work locations for COVID. It faithful brewed us our morning joe as we waited for the ramblings of our supervisor, on our daily zoom calls. Surely the fine aroma that this piece of machinery created, pushed us through the dark days of covid better than any pep talk we could have received from Dr. Fauci. The daily shots of caffeine kept our spirts high as we waited for a vaccine that did not prevent us from illness. After our return to the office, I could not let the old friend go, she now resides on my own kitchen counter still providing a fine aroma and a grand pick me up. Thanks, Mr. Coffee, you too are essential!

Thermostat failure
I’ve had this Model for less than a year and enjoy the thing, however it suddenly stopped working and would beep as if brewing complete, as soon as I started it, but nothing had happened. I watched a few YouTube videos on it and determined it was the thermostat on the coil inside. I guess these go out frequently and regularly and people instead of replacing the failed/broken part, they just buy a new coffee pot. So I purchased new thermostat but not the same specs as the one that comes with coffee pot. Can’t find the right one. Now I am out money to replace and a defective product. I plan on calling 1-800-672-6333 tomorrow,

Stopped working after 15 months
Bought this coffee maker December of 2020. Haven’t had any problems with it, but suddenly it stopped working. I had family over for Easter breakfast, and when attempting to make a pot of coffee it just beeped at me as though it was done brewing - but nothing was happening. The plate was not hot, the water would not go anywhere. I tried various fixes (changing outlets, letting it sit, cleaning mode) & it just kept beeping at me. Prior to “upgrading to this” I had a Hamilton Beach since COLLEGE, & I stupidly threw it away to get this machine. In the trash this goes, where it belongs!

Works fine
I have had mine for about 2 weeks now. No significant issues. The only thing I see is that the disc does not fit right, and whenever I put in just enough water (to the 4-cup line) it brews less. So I must add in more water. Mind you, I have been drinking coffee since 1995, and that is not long enough to be a coffee connoisseur, but I know a little bit.

Doesn't Work
Buy something else. This coffee maker broke down so fast. Just beeps and never makes coffee.
