The 9th book in the New York Times bestselling Villains series tells the tale of the rise and fall of the infamous pirate, Captain Hook—a boy who grew up.Before Peter Pan and Wendy. Before the Lost Boys. There was just a boy named James who wanted to get back to Neverland. As a baby, James Bartholomew fell out of his pram and was taken to Neverland. James is claimed by his parents just shy of seven days—after which he would have officially become a Lost Boy. Once he returns to London, he never stops thinking about Neverland. As he grows up, he hates his life in London, and everything to do with growing up and eventually becoming a gentleman. So he seeks a position on the ship of the infamous pirate, Blackbeard. On Blackbeard's ship he learns to be a cutthroat pirate, and eventually becomes captain of his own ship, which James is determined to sail to Neverland. With the help of the Odd Sisters and a bit of magic, he just might get his wish. But returning to Neverland comes at a price—and now that he's grown up, the whole world seems to be rooting for his demise…

Adventures Await You!

I’ve been on a Captain Hook kick lately and I came across this book in my searches. I was apprehensive because it’s part of the series that has a certain infamous three witches that I like to avoid after reading books 1, 2 and 4. However this story about Captain Hook was excellent and focused mostly on him. One part was unfortunately predictable, but I chalk it up to inference on my part. I will definitely reread this book in the future.

Surprisingly Cute!

I enjoyed reading this despite wondering how it was going to end. I didn’t see that ending coming, especially the conversation that happens between Peter and Captain Hook.

Absolutely Brilliant!

Lookie lookie, she got hookie. Robin Williams fans will recognize that as what Rufio said when he thought he had beaten Captain Hook. So many movies have been made about Peter Pan and Captain Hook, but none has been as surprising as Never Never. Personally, I have never been much of a Disney fan. But, oh, how I love the Disney Villains! Serena Valentino’s brilliance never ceases to amaze me. Each book in her series tells the story of the villain – how s/he became a villain, more specifically. Never Never quickly became one of my favorites. Captain James Hook’s evolution from an aristocratic upbringing in London to Peter Pan’s nemesis is quite the tale. As with all the Disney Villain books, the Odd Sisters are instrumental in Hook’s evolution. Never Never even explains how Captain Hook’s actions set off a chain reaction resulting in more villains. The reader is reminded that each Disney Villain may have his or her own story, but each story is connected. Serena Valentino’s much anticipated Never Never does not disappoint. The author provides the perfect mixture of ingredients to create a delicious blend of good and evil. Never Never is a page turner from start to finish. I can hardly wait to see where Serena Valentino takes us next. Absolutely brilliant!!
