Great shoe, bad QC?

Love this shoe, HOWEVER, the gum sole is already starting to turn white, and look really bad after just 3 days of wear. It is affecting both soles, and I haven't worn them in any weather, or spilled anything on them. I tried to clean them, but nothing comes off. It appears to be in the rubber. Do I have a defective pair Nike?
