Mediocre sweat wicking for basketball

I play basketball and sweat fairly heavily, and after a few uses, I found this T-shirt is neither terrible nor great with its moisture wicking -- just average. It's made of that thin, flat, film-like polyester material some sportswear companies have been using, but in my experience, it doesn't work very well compared to conventional textured vented polyester. After a while of working up a decent amount of sweat, the shirt starts to feel sticky and heavy and a little uncomfortable -- which is exactly how I would expect an ordinary cotton T-shirt with no moisture wicking to behave when soaked in sweat. I guess this shirt should not be expected to do much more than an ordinary cotton T-shirt.
