Great concept. Poor execution.

Love the versatility but there are two major issues I don't like. One is that the slow cook settings are nowhere near what they should be compared to every other slow cooker I have ever used in my life. The low setting is barely hot enough to heat and takes many hours to cook anything. The high setting is far too hot and results in boiling the contents, evaporating any sauces in the dish. For example I tried making a pot roast. The sear worked very well and saved using a separate skillet. However, when I switched to high slow cook, I discovered the sauce was rapidly boiling and reducing after only an hour! This is FAR too hot to be useful. I lowered it to the low setting and it then appeared to not be cooking at all after another couple of hours. So I switched back and forth each hour from high to low which is ridiculous. I can't trust this thing enough to leave it unattended. This really defeats the purpose of the timed cooking. And that's another issue - the low cook setting refuses to go below 6 hours. I found a workaround for this by setting it to high cook at my desired time then lowering the temp to low after starting it. Again, a ridiculous limitation. This appliance has some great features. Unfortunately, they are severely shadowed by poor design. Hopefully future models will fix the defects of this one.

Possible improvement

As much as I love this product, one thing I can think of that would make it SOOOOOO much better, is having a seal around the lid. My pot is scratched up from the lid scraping the sides.

Not Happy with This Appliance

I don't care for this model at all. The pre-heating function is time consuming and awkward. Having the power button on the left and the start button on the right is confusing. Why should you saute on one side and switching to cooking on the left with multiple selections for timer use and it must be on sous vide to continue cooking This machine needs to be simplified.

enamel rubbing off interior due to lid on and off

This was bought beginning of December. I've used it maybe 3 to 4 times I am now finding the lid is taking the nonstick enamel off of the inside of the cooker. I'm being very gentle with when removing and putting the lid on and also with washing it.But then enamal still keeps coming off every time I use it.

Poorly made

My third multi cooker from Ninja. Very disappointed. I do shredded brisket in it. Slow and low 8 hours. Way too hot. Ruined it. Quality compared to the older black ones is horrible. Coating started flaking with first cook. The way the pot fits in the unit design is horrible.

Hi Stevey, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. As someone who has used multiple Ninja multi‑cookers in the past, your perspective carries a lot of weight, and it’s clear that this latest unit didn’t meet the level of performance or durability you’ve come to expect. Having a long, slow cook run too hot, especially for something like shredded brisket, can be incredibly disappointing, and early flaking on the pot’s coating or issues with how the pot fits into the base should never take away from the cooking experience you’re aiming for. Our team would like the opportunity to review this with you more closely. When you’re able, please reach out to us here so we can assist further: https://support.sharkninja.com/en-CA/contact-us. Kind Regards, Ninja Kitchen US.
