Beautiful Rug

I love this rug. The colors are vibrant and it is soft to walk on. Unfortunately after a week I noticed some of the threads were splitting in one small area, the area where I put my feet in front of the sofa. For an expensive rug, I expected better durability. I have requested an exchange from Macy's and am hoping it is just a defect of this one rug.
