It protects sheep from rain, wind and cold.

Most people think I'm in my 40's. I'm 69 and have used lanolin on my face but not around my eyes, for decades. It is the best for dry skin on my hands after gardening, chapped heels and to moisturize my face and lips. I love this and will use it the rest of my life!

Works Beautifully

I've been using this product for several years on both my hair and skin and I hope to never be without it. I've never, ever noticed an offensive odor of any kind and as far as the texture, well it is lanolin with very little water. I keep mine in the shower and apply it before towel drying and whatever is left on my hands I pull through my hair. This really is a very good product.

Rancid

bought two weeks ago. my nurse took one wiff and said it is rancid. Smells like gasoline which means it is not pure lanolin. It must have petroleum in it.

New formulation STINKS

I've bought this for years and years and it's always smelled kind of good. This most recent tub STINKS. It smells so strongly and horribly of gasoline/chemicals i had to try and wash it off.

Got worse

I bought this first over a year ago, and it was amazing - moisturized well and smelled vaguely of sheep. It went out of stock for a while. When it came back into stock a few months ago I bought it again and this new batch smells terrible and strongly of chemicals or gasoline. I think they must be cutting it with petroleum.
