Fun Cute Glasses

These are really fun! I’ve enjoyed wearing these to film hands free cooking videos, and for going on runs. I like that the glasses hook up to music and to Strava for running. They also look cute on!

Outstanding product

I’ve been wearing the Oakley Meta glasses for a bit now, and I honestly didn’t expect to like them this much. The first thing I noticed was how solid and premium they feel—very Oakley. They don’t feel gimmicky or fragile at all, which was my biggest concern going into smart glasses. Fit-wise, they’re comfortable and well-balanced. Even with the tech built in, they don’t feel heavy on my face, and I can wear them for hours without pressure on my nose or ears. They still look like regular Oakleys, which I love—nothing about them screams “tech gadget.” The audio quality surprised me the most. The speakers are clear, loud enough for outdoor use, and I can still hear what’s going on around me. It’s perfect for calls, music, or quick voice commands without blocking out the world. The camera is super convenient for quick photos or short videos. I like that I can capture moments hands-free without pulling out my phone—it feels natural and instant. The image quality is solid for social content and everyday memories. Battery life has been reliable for daily use. I can get through the day with casual photos, audio, and interactions without stressing about charging, which is exactly what I want from wearable tech. Overall, these feel less like “smart glasses” and more like normal Oakleys with smart upgrades. Stylish, functional, and actually useful—not just a novelty. If you’re into tech but still care about looks and comfort, these are a really good balance of both.

Hi sunilee_861, Thank you for the five-star review! We worked closely with Oakley to develop a pair of glasses that could keep up with our users' adventures, sophisticated yet solid. Stylish but comfortable, we know our users want to improve their tech while feeling like it is out of the way. The speakers let you be part of the conversation while staying on top of notifications or discreetly listening to a message. The camera is always ready to capture those important moments and amazing experiences that you want the world to see, and that no one would believe if you hadn't caught them on film! We wanted to give our users more than just a piece of tech; we wanted them to have the tools to share their world whenever and wherever they want. Thanks for this amazing review. We hope you continue to enjoy your new pair of Oakley Meta glasses and all the features they have to offer!

Better than I imagined

I’ve been using the Oakley Meta Glasses for about a month now, and they have been surprisingly helpful, convenient, and practical for a myriad of different reasons. Being completely honest, my favorite feature has been the ability to stream my Spotify playlists at the office through the Bluetooth connection. The speakers are close to your ear which allows the wearer to listen at decently loud levels, and nobody else around can hear unless they literally put their head right next to the frames. I love this feature because I can still listen to my music in an office environment that frowns upon wearing headphones. I also use the glasses for making and receiving phone calls, and again, the sound quality is fantastic, and everyone I’ve talked to can’t tell a difference between the clarity of my voice through the glasses versus my iPhone. Lastly, the camera quality isn’t bad if you’re trying to snap a photo hands free. However, if quality was a consideration for the photo, or video for that matter, I’d still opt to use my iPhone or DSLR. I’m sure the camera technology will only improve on future iterations of the glasses.

Cool but room for improvement!

The Meta glasses are definitely the future, today. However, they were less feature rich than I was expecting. If you are comfortable wearing AirPods and accessing Siri that way you might feel underwhelmed by the Meta glasses. Having such easy access to capturing photo and videos is definitely appreciated but likely only in limited use cases such as travel. The audio playback was impressive although can be heard by others in close proximity. With several upgrades and the introduction of additional features, I can see how these would be a real winner for a lot of folks.

Great product

Awesome product with cool features. I particularly like the video recording function. It is a reasonable weight and comes with an intuitive charging case. As for style, it is a bit too bulky to wear in public but some may enjoy this style. Overall great product.

Integrated Accessibility but Needs to Give Back

I got these smart glasses not realizing that they were THE Meta AI glasses I’ve been hearing a lot about. I am staunchly against generative AI, so it was actually quite interesting to review them because I take my privilege to review very seriously and try to remain unbiased as possible. The good thing about these glasses is that they have the UV transition lenses and can be converted into corrective eyewear if needed. I found that the transition did take a while before getting more opaque. I like the purple tint a lot. There is no curve to the ear section of the glasses so I did find that it dug in a little bit in the back of my ears. They are wide for me, but I imagine that is to fit a variety of head and face shapes. I did not like that I had to sign up for a Meta AI account. I also did not like that the app takes up a lot of space on my phone. I did not like the generative AI images upon opening the app as I find them disturbing. I will say I think there are a lot of good things like the Be My Eyes integration and the foreign language translation integration. I actually do like the video and photo aspect because it keeps me hands-free, especially on my nature walks (hence my weather appropriate outfit.) I can see where there could be ethical issues here, but the app does state that you should always get permission before filming or taking photos which I would hope people would respect. The speakers in the earpieces are actually very nice and very good quality. Everything is clear sounding. This is the feature I used most, especially on walks and in bed when I didn’t want to put headphones in. My biggest concern that would probably change my opinion to a more favorable one is that the energy consumption that the servers are using is doing more damage to the environment than I think is worth the product. I think Meta AI needs to invest in giving back to the communities that they are building warehouses in as well as supporting and giving back to the environment. I think these glasses could be a wonderful accessibility tool, but as is, there needs to be more accountability than just giving us a cool product. We need more investment back into what is being taken from the environment. I wish I could opt out of certain features of this product, again, like the “art” in the app. I would much prefer just having access to the speaker system, the Be My Eyes, the translation, and the video. I do find the noise of the Meta chime to be loud compared to what’s playing for music, it’s a little jarring when first putting them on. I think a lot of people will really like these glasses and I can see their value, but I really hope that Meta AI can invest back into our planet what it is taking.

So fun!

Still learning some of the features but they were super easy to set up and start using. The camera and sound quality is amazing! I have been using these on my walks instead to listen to music and it has been nice to still be able to hear and be more aware of my surroundings. I was worried they might feel heavy but they’re pretty lightweight, the overall quality of the glasses and the charging case feels really nice as well. I have really been enjoying these so far!

Meh - these could be better

I really wanted to love these Oakley Meta Transition glasses, but after using them for about a month, I think they're just kinda "meh." I'll start my review with what I like about them and end with what I dislike. First of all, I actually really like the clear glasses frame and shape. I think they look good on my face, and I believe they would compliment other face shapes as well. Additionally, they're the perfect weight to where they don't feel super fragile or like a brick on your face. Setup for the glasses and app was very straightforward and easy. The sound quality was higher than I expected so I was pleasantly surprised when I took them outside on runs. However, once I took these glasses outside, that's when I discovered my dislikes. The transition lenses are theoretically cool but practically still need work. The speed at which the lenses darken is way too slow and not dark enough for my taste. Additionally, when I hop in the car to run errands, the glasses don't darken at all leaving me with the full blaze of the sun in my eyes while I drive. Also, I found that once my nose starts to sweat, the glasses continually slip down my nose (regardless of the non-slip material on the nose bridge of the frames) on runs, which leads to me constantly pushing them back up my nose. This became very irritating because I would end up pressing the control buttons on the side of the frames so I was constantly either pausing my music or turning the volume up/down. Eventually, I gave up on the idea that these glasses would replace my ear buds and non-smart sunglasses on my runs, which is disappointing. Even though I'm kinda "meh" about these glasses, I still find myself putting them on when I don't feel like wearing ear buds as I clean or do other chores around the house.
