He promotes gambling in the ward, smuggles in wine and women, and openly defies the rules at every turn. Amazing book

Very happy I picked up the book. Do yourself a favor and pick this up and read. Do yourself another favor and don't watch the movie until you read the book. The film was absolutely captivating and on par with the book itself. So rare a movie can capture the magic that the book has, so don't spoil it and please read the book first. Only reason it is getting 4 stars on my end is because there's a period between part 2 and 3 where the story kind of drags and gets a little dull. It took me about a week to read through about 40 pages. Once I got through though I finished the final 100 pages in one night. That being said, that is my personal opinion and I recommend you check it out yourself
