Keeps You Turning The Pages
This is a different book than Jeneva Rose typically writes. It is a wonderful and delicious thriller as always but there is also so much drama. It is like watching a whole season of the Real Housewives. Highly recommend!

The characters are self-absorbed and snobbish. I was really into the book but felt the ending fell short of my expectations…it just didn’t have the impact I was hoping for. Overall, it was an okay read for me.

Good read but missing that Jeneva Rose WOW moment
3.5-3.75 stars Jenny is a hair dresser extraordinaire to the richest women of Buckhead. Through multiple character POV’s we get to know the inner workings of this group. The book was entertaining but didn’t wow me like some of Ms. Rose’s other books. I felt that there was minimal payoff after all the build up. If you can listen to the audiobook, do it! It really helped me to easily keep track of all the players.

Mildly entertaining, pretty vapid
**Possible spoilers** This book was actually fairly entertaining, but it did feel a bit bogged down. It was far better than "The Perfect Marriage" but not as good as "The Girl I Was." I will never re-read it though. While most characters were pretty unlikable, there were a few that were ok. Of course, as is par for the course in this day and age, none of the men were likable, only a few of the women. Most of the characters were vapid and selfish, but I didn't necessarily care; just don't expect to have multi-dimensional real-feeling characters here. There were the standard errors from someone who knows nothing about guns; calling a magazine a "clip," and having a character fire a warning shot, which is illegal in most states and encouraged against in the gun-owning world. The ending, while interesting, happened way too fast and probably could've been a little clearer. All the action happens in the last twenty pages, and it just felt a bit rushed to get all of that out in such a short span of time. The timeline of "three weeks ago" also seems a bit off with the time passages that are explained in between as well. The book took place largely within the salon, and that setting got a bit boring after a while. Also, the town seemed to only inhabit the named characters; scenes felt empty even when they were described as crowded. Overall, a somewhat enjoyable read, with some good and bad, but I'm glad that it's over and I can read something better. Unlike most of my other books, I won't be keeping this one for a re-read. Will try Jeneva's other books, though, as I absolutely loved "The Girl I Was." I kind of wish she'd write another women's fiction book.
