Rug is wearing after 1 month

Love the color and size of this rug, but after one month, it is wearing in places where we sit from our shoes. Called Macys, and the policy is returnable within 30 days. I get that, but I have only recently noticed the wear and tear. I always love Macy's and buy most of my furniture, rugs, and clothing from them. I am a long-time platinum member and am surprised at their Customer Service on this one.
