I just wanted to tell you how much I love the Oxo Sweep Set. I have 4 sets strategically placed around the house for easy access. You see, my cat Jax brings in live playmates usually skinks (members of the lizard family) on an almost daily basis and sometimes the rescue and release can get rather exciting. The Oxo broom/dustpan duo is an essential tool in this process. So much so that it has been dubbed the “Lizard Lyft” and has decals identifying it as such (tried to submit a photo, but couldn't). The broom is easy to use and can easily be maneuvered to reach under beds, chairs, and feet (but those are usually already raised up accompanied with some yelling from those who are not used to the daily exercise routine). The broom part of the sets is called the “Skink Sweep 1000” or if the broom is the extendable model “Skink Sweep 2000”. The sturdy, yet lightweight construction of both the broom and the dustpan makes it easy for me to carry using my walker. The long-handled dustpan is just the right height for me and keeps me from having to bend over so much and the swivel dustpan makes capture and containment a breeze. The dustpan’s smooth sides and height makes releasing the skink easy-peasy. The bottom of the dustpan, 7”x 2” (18 x 5cm), is roomy and secure enough to comfortably transport even the largest visitor.
It’s great for sweeping up dust bunnies and cookie crumbs too.
