Shrinking threads after wash/dry

Purchased 3 packages of these napkins. Washed them per the instructions (cold water, low heat dry). One set, the design's threads are completely puckered up and looks like the threads shrunk. From the back it looks like they're ripped. Awful. The other two packets washed and dried beautifully. Have to return the one package, but now I'm short on napkins, because these are no longer available.
