Cool distressed shirt, something weird though

Does anyone else have small holes up the entire shirt near the buttons after they washed it? I didn’t notice them at first but once washed they frayed. Looks like maybe the tool that snapped the buttons together made it because they’re evenly apart and in the same area near every button.
