These shoes are very good looking and really compliment any fit that requires a loafer. They are real leather with a mixed bottom with what looks like a leather-rubber mix, normally I wouldn't go for non-full leather soles but the rubber pad really makes these shoes easy to walk in when new. That being said these shoes have a weird fit, I'm a size 13 with a narrow foot and unfortunately these shoes slip out when I walk. Sizing down will not work for me as that would be very uncomfortable for me, I've tried it before. Maybe if they came in half sizes that might work but I really feel that it's the length of the upper section that's not long enough to really hug the whole foot.
Second return
I received a previous order, but the pony is missing on the side. This was to be reviewed but no one ever contacted me. I expressed my concerns to a member of mgmt and when I received the replacement they still didn’t have the pony on the side as shown in the description. I’m very disappointed and this was a waste of time
Missing Embossed Logo
The Polo Ralph Lauren penny loafer was advertised and pictured as having the Polo Logo embossed on the leather at the heel area. Neither shoe was embossed with the Polo Polo Pony Logo
Heritage staple
I love the Alston shoe collection because it fits my feet and my wardrobe. The black watch top is a heritage staple for RL. I have other accessories that match beautifully with these shoes. I look forward to many years with these shoes apart of my wardrobe!

Refined details that make a statement!!!
These look great online, but they’re even better in person. The leather is incredibly soft and rich, and the plaid detail adds just the right touch of style without being loud. Instantly became my favorite casual shoe—comfortable, well-made, and stylish all around.

Comfortable fit and nice style. I could not see that the wool fabric was actually black watch which means that styling options are limited to certain times of the year. However this is a very comfortable and well made shoe that can probably go from early Fall to late Winter.
