Tags on clothes hurting

I love all the Polo kids clothes but I just don't like the tags on the clothes. They rub on your skin very sharp and irritating uncomfortable. Had to cut them off

poor

The fabric is terrible. After washing it once, the entire back side was covered in pilling. The 2025 item also has a lot of pilling and shedding. Has the country of manufacture changed or has the fabric become inferior? I always buy this, but this is the first time I've had this happen.
