Realy liked this cup, but the cover was plastic., did not look like it in the ad., can you advise if that is it., plastic, ordered two more now and the covers look like they match the cup. advise thank you Doris Dupke

Poor workmanship

I gave my sister this cup as a gift. It is beautiful. Because of the lid, it is especially useful in a household of curious pets who love to sample human food and drink when your back is turned. However, when we recently got together for tea, I noticed that the ladybug at the bottom of the design has degraded aporeciablybin less than a month! Although it is dishwasher safe, my sister hand-washes ALL of her kitchenware and tableware. I am most disappointed. Most of my Portmieron pieces are from 30 years ago and show no signs of wear. And I wash them in the dishwasher! This makes me hesitant to purchase Portmieron pieces in the future.
