Meh

I was told I could double the star money points after I had purchased a high priced item. After a week, I don’t see the points. The only advayis the extended return period, but that’s only good if you are a frequent returner.

Misleading and Borderline Fraudulent

As a longtime Macy’s Platinum cardholder, I was misled by a sales associate into purchasing the Red Carpet Membership under the false promise that my rewards would double from 5 points per dollar to 10. That is categorically untrue. Once signed up, I discovered that the Red Carpet program does not increase the reward rate for Platinum members, making the membership essentially worthless for anyone in my tier. Macy’s refuses to issue a refund. This is deceptive marketing and feels like a bait-and-switch scheme dressed up as a “loyalty” program. Shameful. This kind of misleading practice is not just unethical—it’s legally questionable. I predict it’s only a matter of time before this turns into a class-action lawsuit. Macy’s, once an American retail icon, now seems determined to alienate loyal customers on their way to irrelevance. If this is the direction the company is headed, consider this just another nail in its rapidly approaching coffin.

RIP OFF FOR VALUED MACY'S CUSTOMERS

Members of Macy's so called Star Rewards with Platinum rating should be exempt from this annual surcharge and allowed the full 90 days for returns. I couldn't even exchange my shirts for a different size within 45 days. I get the motivation for clamping down on abuse but even 60 days is more reasonable than 30. Too drastic if you ask me!
