Fantastic start to a great sci-fi series!

If you enjoy sci-fi/fantasy stories (especially Divergent), you're going to love Red Rising. It scratched all the itches for dystopian and futuristic elements, with a wild take on class roles in society. It was sometimes difficult to tell the different characters apart because they had very similar names, but once I got into the story it was fine.

Wonderful Start to an Amazing Series

I’ve listened to every audiobook in this series so far. I wasn’t sure at first because it’s not exactly my normal genre, but I was blown away by the end. The world building is so amazing the author deserves an award for his imagination. It’s not a romance, but more of an epic adventure, with unique characters, plot twists, fighting scenes, futuristic technology, character development, governments, and social structure. I think about this series often and recommend it to everyone.

More than just "Hunger Games" in space.

Pierce Brown put me into the universe of literature I never read during my school years, went to college started reading for fun, and found this book as one of my starters, and wow! what a universe. I recommend it because the characters are not flat, there are lots of twists and turns, all the characters are unique and make their own color in the story I recommend for sure.

Great start to the series

Over the past year, I attempted to dive into this book at least three times before finally committing to a buddyread organized by Bakers.bookends. I may have been slow to finish, but it was absolutely worth it. Despite not being an avid science fiction fan, this story captivated me from the start. The world-building was truly exceptional. Darrow emerged as a character you can't help but cheer for. As his world crumbles around him, he takes bold steps to achieve his ambition of dismantling the oppressive ruling class. The narrative is filled with unexpected twists and turns, making it incredibly difficult to put down. The writing kept me guessing about who Darrow could trust, adding to the suspense. The ending left me eager to continue the journey with the next book. I highly recommend this read to anyone who enjoys science fiction. It's an experience you won’t want to miss!

Peak Sci-Fi

Picked this book up based on TikTok recommendations. I can confidently say this is one of the best sci-fi/dystopian series I have ever read. It is up there with the Ender Saga, the Hunger Games, and Dune. Darrow’s character building is one of the best I’ve seen. Tells a touching story about fighting against injustice and for equality.

One of my favorite series ever

Loved this book and have since listened/read to the entire series. I enjoyed the first person perspective throughout and it was an interesting look at society and I enjoyed how Darrow evolved as the book progressed.
