Too small for knives

None of the storage boxes in the store easily fit the knives for my flatware (Frosted Melon Bud by Gorham). The bridal registry consultant looked up some of the chests online, and thought this one would fit, so I added it to my registry. To be fair, the knives do fit into the box. However, extreme care must be taken to ensure that the sides of the knives do not scrape against the edge of the box lid when putting them in or taking them out. Also, when taking the knives out, more often than not it seems the knife hits the inside of the box lid edge. Although this would be something I can use if needed, I think I will return this box and purchase a larger (and sadly more expensive) one. For those who are curious, the depth of the box is just under 11 inches. It would be nice if this information were available with the product details on the website. Other than not being quite the right size for my flatware, the box seems to be nicely made - if the knives fit easily, I'd be happy with it.

Memories and Treasure Chest

Bought this item as a Christmas gift to my Mother. She had one that was over 50 years old and was really showing its age. This is not only a storage case, but also a place to hold a lot of memories and treasures.

Cheaply made

The chest is cheap! The knife slots are all uneven and do not fit all butter knife and the lining starting peeling after 2 months. I exchanged this for the waterford one.

Beautiful and functional chests.

Great second bonus item when purchasing 2 pieces of Reed and Barton flatware (in addition to a bonus 3rd set of flatware). The interior is tarnish resistant and this allowed me to take my fine silverware out of their original boxes and store them safely and in style. Would likely purchase the 2 drawer chest if purchasing alone versus receiving as a bonus item.

Didn't fit knives

Received it as a wedding present (registered for it). But it didn't fit the knives that we registered for. Now I have to return it and find something else that fits.

Nice

The item arrived in good condition. It is a nice color and just the right size. The only con is that the drawer is a little wobbly. I got it on sale though, and I think it is a good value.
