NOT WHAT I EXPECTED

I purchased the smoky eye kit recently. The shadows are nice, but the eye pencil is huge. It looks like a large crayon. How does one get a nice thin line on their eye with something this big. Also, the mascara was dry. Not sure if I received an old kit. Too late to return. I will not purchase again.
