Good looking, but, I am questioning size

I received the shoes and have ordered size 11.5W before from Rockport. The shoes look great, but, for some reason the shoes were large on me. I compared the soul and heal size to my older Rockports and the sole looks the same size, yet, the inside of the shoe had too much space and was too big on me. I suspect their may have been less padding inside the shoe or something. Not sure, so I had to order a smaller size.
