The only drawback with this shoe is the stiff tongue edge. I will have to wear a higher cut sock so it doesn’t rub. All my other Rykä sneakers don’t have this.

Zero motion control, weird arch
They fit just right in width and length, and what a concept to have enough room for my toes! That’s where the good ends. I tried this sneaker and a walking sneaker to find arch support and high motion control. I am sad to report that this shoe, which says it had higher motion control than the Ryka walking sneaker I tried, has oddly LESS motion control; plus the arch is just ODD. For reference, I wear Brooks women’s motion control sneakers of which there are a few options. They prevent me, a person with a connective tissue disorder, from over pronating or supinating, something that leads to all sorts of painful issues like plantar fasciitis; but Brooks murders my toes and I am so tired of tiny toe boxes because brands think it’s acceptable to make smaller versions of men’s shoes and call them women’s. Ryka certainly gets the toe box, but oh my OUCH this sneaker and the other Ryka walking sneaker WANT me to overpronate! This is such a sad day. I have to stick with squished, tortured toes in Brooks. Please, Ryka, I KNOW you can compete in the motion control category. I charge companies for advice like this: Women are the majority of connective tissue disorder patients, and the search for a good shoe is real in this niche but large community. With the toe box solved, you are our only hope for motion control sneakers. 🙏

A near perfect shoe
I admit I have problem feet. These shoes tick so many boxes in my quest to find comfortable shoes that I bought a second pair and may buy a third (hint, more colors please). High enough arch? Check. Right amount of cushioning i.e. not too much because of plantar fasciitis and stability? Check. A wide width that also gives extra room on the outside of the foot for a Tailor's Bunion? Check. Neutral stance? Check -- I don't pronate or supinate. Sufficient heel to toe drop to prevent plantar fasciitis flare-ups? Check. Now here's something amazing; I don't need my orthotics with these shoes, The double arch support from the insole and from the foot bed itself is sufficient, and that's good because if you wear orthotics, they won't fit in this model shoe. Right. That extra foot bed arch prevents using orthotics, at least for me. But hey, not needing them because the shoe does the work is great! I could go on because I LOVE these shoes! Oh, they run very big. I usually wear a 10 but the 9 1/2 is roomy on me.

Comfort!
I just got these and they are so cute but most importantly they are super comfortable. They fit great and feel great on my feet but as far as longevity I can not really say yet as I just got them but I have a feeling these will be my new favourits!

Returning due to uncomfortable tongue material
I bought two pairs of Ryka running shoes and am returning this pair. The fit is good and the quality is great, but the tongues of these shoes are not padded where they touch the fronts of my ankles. As an atheletic foam material, the tongue edge feels thin and slightly rigid — pushing into my ankles. For the price, I want complete comfort. The tongues annoy my comfort. I opted to keep the Ryka Devotion X Lace Up shoes instead.
Not impressed!
This new soft Qfoam is pretty nice, but this new shoe needs improvement. The toe drop is a bit too much, causing pressure on the ball of the feet. That pairs with not enough cushion depth in the forefoot. But the biggest disappointment for me is the new arch shape inside! Yikes, it's not in the usual "normal" place of the Rykas I love, but back towards the front/inside of the heels -- and it's hard, in spite of the cushy insert. Felt like a hard ball, or lump, sitting underneath my arches. The Wide was roomy enough, and it's true to size.
