If you don't want to jump in the OLED train due to potential burn in, this is the perfect monitor for you. This monitor delivers 4k at 240 Hz with a decent brightness. It is perfect for both productivity and for gaming as well.

The Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED is easily one of the most impressive gaming monitors I’ve ever owned. The colors are vivid, blacks are truly deep, and the overall clarity feels alive — whether I’m playing fast-paced shooters or exploring cinematic story games. Paired with my RX 9070 XT, everything runs buttery smooth at 240Hz with zero screen tearing or lag. HDR performance is exceptional, and the monitor handles motion beautifully — no ghosting or color banding even in darker scenes. The ultra-thin design and clean RGB ring on the back make it just as stunning off as it is on. The only small thing I’d change is the auto-input detection delay when switching between sources, but that’s a minor nitpick. Overall, the G8 delivers that premium OLED experience without compromise — perfect for gamers who want both performance and style in one package.

Good but not enough and bad support
Setup & Use: -Best at 120Hz: Smooth motion, vivid colors. -Curved panel: Noticeably enhances gaming immersion. Issues Encountered: -Flickering blocks (intermittent): Random square flickers appear. Power-cycling fixes it, but it’s annoying. -Severe scan lines at 240Hz: Switching to 240Hz introduces clear scan lines. Based on Reddit reports, this seems widespread—not just my unit. -Support experience: Poor overall. No returns allowed; for an exchange, I must ship the monitor first. With only one display for work, that’s highly disruptive. Pros - Excellent image quality and motion clarity at 120Hz - Immersive curved design Cons: - Reliability issues (flicker) - Major 240Hz scan-line defect - Weak, inconvenient support policy Verdict: If you’ll run it at "120Hz", it looks great and plays well. If you need "240Hz" or reliable, responsive support, this model is hard to recommend.

Colorful, Large, Realistic 4K Specifications
As a full time use gaming monitor, I have had zero issues with this particular model. However, it certainly comes down to what you value in a Monitor. If you want something that checks every box but is possibly more reliable than an OLED gaming monitor, this certainly isn't a bad choice by any means. Its HDR compatibility leaves a lot to be desired on that front, but you can certainly tinker around with it to get some interesting results. I personally use RTX HDR and or Special K to get the most from it with a custom HDR color profile.

Great monitor
It's a great monitor for movies videos games, very nice having multiple ports for all my systems and PC, also the picture in picture is great for when I wanna game on my console but wanna watch something on my PC while doing so. Amazing capabilities that I don't think many utilize but it's a game changer.

He's happy.
I bought this for my husband. By day he's a law enforcement officer and by night he's an animator/comic book artist. While his previous 27-inch 4k monitor from another brand was acceptable, he needed an upgrade to complement his 4090. When we hooked up this monitor, the choirs of angels sang. Visually, it's beautiful. The design is eye-catching. The screen with its brightness and effortless curve does indeed make it an immersive experience, even outside of gameplay. The texture of his characters on Blender, Clip Studio, and whatever that 3rd one he uses, are beautiful. They look very lifelike. He stated he could better see flaws he now knows he has to touch up. He didn't leave the house all weekend; he was so happy. Wifey did good. But I always do. That's why I'm wifey. 😊
