When I cut the plastic opened the candy, the pieces were all chalky and discolored. The candy appears to be old, though the expiration date has not been met.

Just trying to help out: After reading the review for this candy I felt I should share this info I just learned myself. Info was concerning chocolate & what type of expiration & or shelf life time it had. The article stated that chocolate, dark & milk had about 1 year for you to store it & still taste good. It also stated that chocolate would take on a whitish, dusty look when it was no longer fresh or tasting good, in other words, when it has expired.White chocolate has an even shorter life span but I don't have a time frame for this type of chocolate.
