sizing is not clear

I was uncertain whether the available sizes indicated on the Macy's webpage for this item were stated in US sizing or UK sizing. I guessed incorrectly that it was UK sizing, and so I ordered a size larger than my US size after reading reviews for this style on the Seasalt Cornwall UK website: it was too big. Apart from that, I was underwhelmed. The fabric was coarse for organic cotton and the cut and fabrication didn't impress considering the retail price. It seems that even bridge lines like this or Eileen Fisher don't make quality clothing of the sort that used to be 'normal'.
