Break in is not an option
Pushing them with a McIntosh 7200 and honestly my first hour was pure buyer’s remorse. After 10 hours not so muffled but hoping for more clarity especially in the treble range. Bass is not the problem. So hopefully more time may help but we’ll see. You’ll need an extension if you’re going to be couch lounging. What’s with the useless black bag? Really?

Best one so far
I went to these from some DT 990 Pro's 250ohm. and lemme tell you something. its been about 2 months but im still sold that these will be my forever headphones. I have never felt that way about headphones. They sound FULL, very full. Super detailed and clean, and pretty good sub bass. I have them paired with a FiiO k5 pro

Not the upgrade it is purported to be
Touted as the upgrade to the HD 650, but it's more like the upgrade to the HD 58X from Drop. Doesn't have any of the midrange magic of the 6 series, has meaningfully brighter and harsher treble, and is significantly more expensive. Looks incredible (love the colorway) but sonically it's a miss for me across the board.

They are better
Nearly every review I have read and YouTube video I have watched has told me that the 600’s and 650’s are superior to the newer 660s2’s despite their age, so I believed them and bought some 650’s. Yes they are exceptional cans and deserve their legendary status, but curiosity got the better of me and decided to try the 660s2’s. Granted I’m no expert, but I think the 660s2’s are better headphones in every single department. Ever so slightly more comfortable, a smidge more bass, a tad more detail, a bit wider soundstage and a more modern, stylish paint job. I think they are a step forward, not by much, but how could they be? Sennheiser shot themselves in the foot all those years ago by setting the bar so high.

Awesome upgrade after 20y
Sound is superb. A great upgrade from HD 650. Not as amplifier dependant. Not as colored as 650. Just as detailed & vivid but more neutral overall, plus subbass which is lacking in 650.

Great sound, however
Sound quality is excellent; in fact the best so far to my personal taste. Compared to what? Compared to my other headphones which include: Sennheiser True Wireless in Ear, Sennheiser Momentum wired in ear, Bose SoundLink On-Ear, Bose QuietComfort 15 Over ear and Stax SR-L500 Mk2 (through SRM-400S amp). The difference to the STAX is most notable, having the bass that the STAX is so wowfully lacking. A few reviews in magazines have noted one significant negative point, namely that the clamping force is rather high and I can certainly confirm this. It's high enough to be sufficiently unconfortable that I am debating whether to keep these headphones or not. If Sennheiser offered slightly thinner ear pads or some other little trick to reduce the pressure then these would be 100% keepers; as is I'm not so sure. In summary: great sounding headphones let down by a simple comfort problem.

really good
amazing sound quality + comfortable ear-pads. Love that my ears can finally breathe during extended wear periods. my only complaint is they fit slightly too snug, and perhaps too little padding on the top band. Overall, very satisfied. Thanks
