Color shade changed

Not same shade as year before a lot more yellow pigment instead of maple . Looks not as natural as other shade but still feels good on skin .

New formula

I’ve used this foundation for years and they have recently changed the formula. It’s now a lot thicker which isn’t really a good thing for me. It’s more effort to put on and have it look nice. It does last through heat and sweat though. I also like that it still has sunscreen that my sensitive skin can wear.

Thoughts

Consistency thick so hydrated skin or a primer is a must to be able to blend well. Sinks into the skin beautifully. Doesn't last the whole day. Starts breaking down after 5 hours and requires retouch.

Too light with new formula but great coverage

I’ve been a longtime fan of Shiseido for their consistently high-quality products, so I was excited to try their new improved foundation formula. However, I was disappointed to find that the shade range has shifted, and the colors now run lighter than before. I’ve used Alder 230 for years, but with this new formula, it was much too light—almost like a 210 shade. I had to return my online order because of this. Determined to find the right match, I went in person to the Shiseido counter at Macy’s in Mainplace Mall, only to be met with no staff available to assist me. Frustrated, I ended up asking for help from a kind Chanel counter representative. with her help, I found the Sand 250 shade, which worked better. While the foundation itself is great quality, the shade inconsistency and lack of in-store support made this experience frustating.

Something changed...

So I love love love this foundation and have been using it for over 10 years. I was literally heart-broken when it got pulled last year and I thought it was discontinued. At that point I would have given it 5 stars! To my amazement, it's back!! The coverage/color is still the same if not even better but the overall product feels thicker. It's a bit tacky when I put it on and I have to use more setting powder than before. I'm thinking they changed the formula but dont let this deter you from one of the absolute best color matching foundations out there!!
