Not flattering if you are under 5'5". Pattern is too overwhelming and the fabric too heavy in general. Had to send it back, unfortunately.

Beautiful quality but VERY full midsection

The fabric and stitching on this are top notch. I love the feel of the satiny fabric and it is extremely comfortable. The lining makes it feel very substantial and well made but not heavy or too hot. The ruffled layers from the waist down are quite cute and tailored, but it gives a fullness to the mid-section that isn’t flattering if you want to hide your weight. I am very tall and busty, but a little thick in the middle. This dress really emphasized that. I did not expect the extra fabric to puff out so much around the gut. A flat but wide body shape would pull this off much better. I purchased online after seeing in store but did not try this on in advance and will be returning it. I wear a 14 but would need to go up 2 sizes to be able to close the zipper. There’s no way my bust would fill out a size that large, even though I wear a G-cup, and making the bottom half even larger and fluffier would look absurd. Gorgeous, well made dress but looks terrible on my body type.
