Long-time Love Me This Machine

I don't understand the poor reviews! I have owned and used this machine for over 7 years now, plus I helped teach a friend how to sew on one, which I recommended she learn with. She has soared on it since day one. As hobbyists, we sew a vast variety of non-apparel garments. I have hemmed/repaired several garments, with ease. I do recommend this model because it is easy to use and keep clean (occasional/routine professional maintenance is also necessary). Using the metal bobbins is a must because, well they just fit and work better in the chamber on this machine. Honestly, I believe if you understand tension variables and use the proper accessories, you will enjoy working with this model.

Horrible purchase

I do not recommend this machine at all. I have had this machine less than a year and used it less than 10 times and absolutely hate it. I have spent more time unwinding a ratted up mess from the bobbin. It doesn’t wind a bobbin tightly at all. It doesn’t do more than 4 layers of fabric. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone

I've had this for 3+ years, works great!!!

I've had this sewing machine for about 3 years now, and sew on a daily/weekly basis. It works great for most things, though sometimes has trouble with thicker fabrics (denim/canvas) and It's nearly impossible to sew super stretchy fabric with it, though that may be a skill issue for me personally. Also, it ALWAYS has issues with plastic bobbins, but works perfectly with the metal ones, so just make sure you have those. That being said, for the price it's FANTASTIC and it has done me very good :)

DON’T EVER BUY THIS

Awful. My grandmother bought this to sew. But.. We couldn’t even thread the thing! The bobbin keeps. breaking and the tread keeps bunching. Returning.

so difficult

I never could imagine that a sewing machine could be this horrible to thread the bobbin and get this thing to sew normally. I am constantly struggling to keep the bobboin working and then fighting the machine to get teh thread thru again

To start it was impossible to get out of the Styrofoam and I immediately noticed the cords are too short. Pretty much everything on this machine can pitch fingers, the bobbin is put in the most inaccessible place possible, I still can't tell how to get the pressure foot up unless you're supposed to manually stick your fingers under it and lift it every time you want to...I don't know, sew? Nothing in the manual about it as far as I can tell. Because of the pressure foot situation, I can't really use it but I'm keeping it in hopes I can figure it out which is why I said two stars instead of one.
