3321 Talent 21-Stitch Sewing Machine with Automatic Needle Threader
Product details
Web ID: 1520929Not surprised it’s no longer available to purchase
I have had this finicky machine for about 4 years now. I have never been able to get the buttonholer to work, despite it supposedly being automatic. I also think the machine senses impending deadlines, as that is when it decides to stop working. So, sewing projects that don’t have a deadline are better. If you have an deadline it will decide to jam. Don’t plan on making a new dress or top for a weekend barbecue or game night, because the machine will suddenly stop working properly. I have sewn enough projects on this machine to learn that it will work for most of a seam, and then suddenly decide to start bunching the lower thread. I could be halfway to 3/4 through making a project, and the machine will suddenly decide that the tension isn’t right midway through a seam. This machine is not for a beginner, as these issues generally need futzing with the machine in the normal “turn it off and turn it back on” style of fixing things. It always seems to be a new problem with this machine. I had been using it for years, and it decided recently that it won’t wind the bobbin properly unless the tension, stitch length, and stitch setting are set to “0”. This is new and never was an issue until this year. Despite being a somewhat experienced sewist, I feel like I am in an escape room through its demand to have the tension changed midway through a seam. I’m not surprised that this machine is no longer available. If you find it at a yard sale or another second hand shop, I would recommend you keep looking. The headache this machine will cause you isn’t worth it.

Cheap Machine
I bought this machine and the first time I ever used it it broke. I went to back stitch for reinforcement and when I released the lever to sew forward, it did not and has then been stuck on back stitch only sewing backwards since and now I have to pay to get it serviced/ fixed.

I love my singer talent
I have had my talent for quite a few years now, at least 10, and I have to say that I have never had any issues with it, it can spend months without use but then as soon as it's called into service it's up and running without issue. If I've used it for a lot in a short time I will take off the base plate and clean out the fluff build up. I love the decorative stitches I can do with it. I prefer the older design machines rather than the computerised ones as there is a lot less can go wrong with them. This is a good everyday machine nothing fancy but works well I have sewn leather with this machine although I wouldn't recommend it so I now have a 1940's semi industrial machine which does my leather work.

Disappointed
I've had this sewing machine for almost 2 years. When I hardly used it, it worked okay. Now that Ive actually tried a pattern, it's a total disappointment. The upper thread breaks multiple times and the needle timing is repeatedly off, despite a $125 "repair". I also have to keep rethreading the bobbin and the upper thread every couple of minutes. Lastly, don't even plan on being able to use the automatic threader past your first couple of uses.

Save you money, sorry you are having issues with your 3321. Have you called Customer Service or emailed them at TalktoUs? While you are passed the 90 day warranty we still may be able to troubleshoot some of the issues.
Frustrated
I purchased this machine when another Singer machine I had died and I needed to finish a project. The bobbin case kept popping out and the thread constantly gets tangled. I paid $100 to have it "repaired" and now the same thing is happening. Extremely frustrating to not have a sewing machine available when you need it. I remember when sewing machines were durable. Not the case these days.

Kim, we are sorry to hear that you are having issues. Have you watched any of our videos on our website? https://www.singer.com/Talent-3321-Sewing-Machine#videos-section. What types of bobbins and thread are you using? Using the wrong style of bobbins can cause issues with the machine. Please give Customer Service a call and we will be happy to troubleshoot with you. 800-474-6437
You get what you pay for
All I can say is that, I bought this machine when my Brother machine died in the middle of a project and I didn't have time to wait for it to be fixed. ( It was 20+ years old with barely an issue). This wash the only affordable one one available when I purchased. Well you get what you pay for. I hate it and every time I need to use it, I use it with dread.....it certainly took the enjoyment out of sewing. I can't wait until.I can afford one that I will enjoy

Love it
Love this machine. I was getting back into sewing after about 15 years. Wanted something cheap to play around with and now I've had this machine a few years and it never let's me down. Yesterday I had 2 layers of fleece, 4 layers of fabric and 2 layers of interfacing and it still worked like a charm!

Machine is Unforgiving
I've had this machine at least two years, and it has been a headache. I use it a lot to mend and alter clothes. If I use a specific thread for the top stitch, and happens to have a left over bobbin for the bottom, it had better be the same type and brand of thread! Otherwise, it will clogg underneath. Also, if sewing over a label, it seems not to be able to accommodate without changing the tension. I have spent more time getting the machine unclogged and working again than I have sewing on it. It is absolutely unforgiving. And, of course, the needle must be exactly correct for the fabric.
