The delivery was prompt and the machine appears to be in good working order, although I haven't yet had much chance to use it. My only problem is that your warranty registration site will not accept my serger's model number and I can't find a phone number or your site to call in for help.

Read serger directions and add videos
This serger is loud and prone to jamming unless you are careful. I figured out after several times that I had not lowered the foot before starting up. Once that error on my part was corrected it is serging like a champ. I’ve made a dress and five aprons using it with no complaints. Threading is easy if you watch you tube videos on how to thread it. I’m glad I decided to make the purchase and plan to make good use of it.

Very Happy
Very quick delivery. Was able to thread the machine easily by tying the thread to the existing thread the machine was shipped with. I am very happy with this serger.

Great serger!
I got the Singer heavy duty serger about a month ago and so far, I am loving it. I am new to using a serger but found it to be very easy to use. The coloring coding on the machine made it very easy to thread. After reading the manual and watching a few how-to videos, I found the serger very easy to use. I tried several different types of fabrics and found this machine could handle all of them with ease. I really like that it works great with thicker fabrics as I was needing to hem some jeans. It did take some getting used to the speed of the serger but I kind of like that now. My only con about the serger is I wish it was a little quieter but it's not a deal breaker. I will definitely recommend this to family and friends. I also look forward to learning more about this machine and it's capabilities.

Overall it been good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks so nice SINGER - 14HD854 Heavy Duty Serger! Pretty much easy to use but I did have trouble with the threading. I think threading is a bit for everyone though. I used the manual to help guide me and that worked out great for me. The four different thread layout is awesome too. It has been such an awesome learning experience. I definitely foresee many years of using this!

works fine
Once you set it up it works fine. It just took me a while to get it going, but once I did I was happy with the results. This serger will provide very very professional-looking stitches. Also you don't have to be a professional to be able to use this. Practice initially with some old fabric until you get the hang of it.

Getting the hang of it.
I have always wanted a serger because my grandma had one and she swore by it. I do have experience with a regular sewing machine but this was my first time with a serger myself. I have to say the manual was pretty intimidating and large, I am so glad that Singer has instructional videos online to help first time users like myself. I haven't quite gotten the hang of it. Threading the machine is no easy task yet, but I'm confident with practice and more experience I'll be able able make the fleece blankets I want for my family this Christmas. I do like that the machine is more compact and lighter than I had assumed it would be. It's easy for me to move and I can use it almost anywhere and be comfortable.
