This high chair is great!

This is a great high chair. I cannot understand why everyone is giving it such poor reviews and wish I hadn't listened and bought it sooner. I've been using it a few weeks now and it is great! Easy to put together, easy to clean, looks good in my house, easy to put my son in, easy to take the tray on and off (even one-handed!), and useful later on as a chair. Honestly, I'm really not sure what people are complaining about. I get that the straps not being washable is annoying, but our previous high chair (a Cosco cheap chair that we bought because it had great reviews) had straps AND the whole cloth seat that was not machine washable, plus that tray took two hands to get on and off and stained immediately. That chair was ugly and gross. This chair wipes clean so quickly (seat and tray) and I clean the straps after each messy meal and it has been fine. Eventually I will be able to take the straps out anyway. It is so nice to have a chair that looks like real furniture in our home. We really love it. We considered the Stokke chair but don't love the look and it is over twice the price when you add in the cost of the infant seat and tray. For my money, this is the best high chair on the market.

Easy to use, easy to clean

Reading some of the other reviews I felt like I was reading about a different chair. We have been using ours for about two months (started around 5 months) and it’s been really easy. It’s easy to wipe down, easy to remove the tray, everything easy.

Stylish but not functional; design fail

I love skip hop products - EXCEPT this high chair. Bought it for its looks and ability to transition to child's chair. The seat is too large for even my large infant so he slouches in the chair. The foot rest is so far down and not adjustable, it would only make sense for him when he is 3? 4? The straps are not removable to wash - so its disgusting after each meal. The tray has a middle safety section attached permanently so its annoying to set down and any food on the tray will spill over. So many poor design decision on this one. Bad choice. Do not buy. Going to buy the Stokke tripp trapp today.

Purchase regret

I too am disappointed in this product, and it is my only major baby purchase regret. The chair is stylish and appears it would be comfy and easy to clean. However, once you put your baby in and try to feed them—it’s a whole different story. It’s the straps! With where they are located and how you can’t remove them to wash thoroughly—it became apparent during our very first use this product was NOT designed by people who have kids. Like others say, baby is essentially sitting on them, so not comfy or even all that secure. Feeding baby is supposed to be messy, and straps should be able to be safely removed and washed to clean them properly. Spot cleaning does not cut it! Removing the straps is permanent so it looks like we have a disgusting year ahead of us, or we may just remove them and render the high chair useless. This really sucks because we are only a few weeks into solids, and I barely even use this chair because of this issue. Baby is mostly eating from sitting on my lap because of those stupid straps. After only a few times the straps are stained and stinky despite rigorous “spot cleaning”. I loved Skip Hop products...until this one. Now I am cautious with any future purchases from them. Get a BabyBjörn instead!

Wanted to Love

As another review stated, I wanted to Love this high chair but it is the one product I regret. I purchased many SkipHop products for my twins, and this one falls short in quality and ease of use. For starters, the straps come from the base of the seat, so they are not secure. My babies can easily wiggle out of them. After weaning to purées then solids, and a stomach bug to top it off, surface cleaning the straps was no longer effective. The straps had to go and now the high chair is useless, I thought at least I got chairs out of the deal, but the food in the strap crevices will not come out. Overall, waste of money.

Fantastic product!

Absolutely love this product. The design is sleek, clean up is easy, and best of all my daughter loves being in it. She has enough room to feel secure and comfortable.

Very cute, but not at all practical

I have loved every Skip Hop product we have owned until this high chair. The straps come up from the bottom so it is impossible to put the baby in the chair without the straps being under his bottom. If you do get him strapped in, the straps are super easy to slip out of. The design of the seat does nothing to help support him. The tray is small and difficult to get on and off the chair. I can imagine there would be cleaning issues but I disliked this chair so much we never really got to that point.

Wanted to love it.

I really wanted to love this high chair. We purchased it about three-ish months ago when our now 10 month old started eating solid foods. We do a mix of pureed foods and BLW. This thing is such a pain to clean - mostly because the straps can't be removed in order to wash. I scrub the straps down by hand as best I can after each meal, but they're so disgusting already. This was a HUGE waste of money. There are definitely better options out there and I wish I'd done more researching before just trusting the Skip Hop brand.
