Great shoes but look out if you have a high instep

These shoes are well made, stylish and will last for years. There's only one problem. There's an elastic band that attaches the tongue to the sides of the shoe. If you have a high instep this is miserable. I bought these and then had to wear them walking around all day without breaking them in. I had swelling and a big bruise across the tops of both of my feet. I had to ask my husband to use a knife and cut the band on both sides. They fit great after that. So, if you have a higher instep consider cutting that elastic before wearing them.
