Disappointed

The necklace is beautiful, I love it, however, after I wore it once, I put it.on jewelry dish and this morning it was tangled mess!! how does/did it happen???? Ive spent almost 2 hours trying to untangle to no avail, its going back, I love necklace so much Im willing to buy it again but I fearful Ill get a other horrible, tangle mess, it was a nightmare! Has anyone else encounter this problem, was this just a defective necklace?
