weird fit

I brought the denim blue pair a half size large since many steve madden sandals fit small. I am glad that i ordered the larger size. They fit my foot but because I have long toes, the band around the front fits weird and is pushed forward and when walking feels unstable as if they may fling off my foot. If i push my toes forward for more stability, they hang unflattering over the front. For this reason I have to return them but the shoe is very cute and matches basic denim outfits wonderfully. I am really upset about the fit.
