Not as nice as I'd hoped

I'd admired these earrings online for awhile. When the price dropped, I ordered. The base metal is rhodium plated and it seemed thick and chunky. Sure, it's not white gold or sterling, but I'd hoped, for the price the earrings would be 'nicer.' The crystals, too, were not as sparkly as I'd expected. I sent them back.
